2022

Set as a Design Communication Research Project integrating the other senses into the realm of
Visual Communication, “False Ink-lings; Echo Chambers” is an immersive interactive installation exploring the concept of perception.
“False Ink-lings; Echo Chambers” offers the exploration of stereotypes, the questioning of one’s beliefs, and the presentation of different perspectives, focusing on the misconceptions and dichotomies of the world.
It offers an escape from media echo chambers, the epitome of confirmation bias.
This first volume of  the “False Ink-lings” series focuses on the fetishisation and stereotypes of Asian women. It is a response to the March 2021 Atlanta Spa Shootings and the long-established racially prejudiced and misogynistic narrative that may have caused it.
Within the installation, the audience is invited to commentate throughout their experience. This gets added to a bank of other anonymous audio files, which they are then invited to listen to experience the installation with someone else’s thoughts, through someone else’s perspective.
